If you want to work in property management, you may enjoy being an apartment concierge. If you possess strong communication skills and enjoy providing value to others, this may be the role for you. Here are six responsibilities of an apartment concierge.

Greet Residents and Visitors

Through this process, you help individuals feel welcome, get to know residents’ names and provide the personalized service they desire. You also take messages for residents, deliver the messages and obtain resident approval before sending up visitors.

Provide Direction

You may be asked questions about local restaurants, clubs, retail shops or places to take visitors out for the evening. You may also provide brochures with local interests and maps of the area to better direct individuals to the attractions they desire.

Arrange Services

You may be asked to make dinner reservations, order food for delivery or reserve entertainment tickets. You may also be asked to reserve party or conference room spaces in the building for residents, hail cabs or distribute mail.

Maintain the Community

As an apartment concierge, you maintain the community so it is attractive to residents. For example, you oversee parking, control security and maintain groundskeeping services so the community remains in working order. You also show the property to potential residents and welcome new residents with gift baskets and complimentary services so they feel at home.

Enhance the Quality of Living

You’re in charge of miscellaneous tasks that enhance the residents’ quality of living. You may accept, log and deliver packages to residents. You may also assist with residents moving in and out. In addition, you may schedule time for housekeeping and maintenance professionals to resolve issues in an efficient manner. Furthermore, you may keep records of residents’ vehicles, phone numbers, frequent guests and personal preferences to help personalize your interactions.

Provide Public Relations

You work as an intermediary between residents and management. Your focus is to add commercial appeal to the residence to enhance sales and marketing, promote a sense of community, alleviate management’s responsibilities and increase residents’ satisfaction.
